Why Karate Teaches Kids More Than Kicking and Punching

Karate teaches more than just kicking and punching, it teaches key values that nurtures a child.

By training in karate a child gains a non-quitting SPIRIT, and this Spirit makes a difference in all aspect of a child’s life.

I started training in karate with my kids so that we could be involved in an activity together. Now it has become more than just an activity, it has become a passion that we all share.

As a student of Karate myself for many years, I strongly believe that every child should train in Martial Arts. Training in karate has had such a positive impact on my kids and I have seen the difference it has made for so many other kids in such profound way.

Through years of training one faces various challenges and dealing with these challenges in a safe environment a child can learn so many different skills and values. In the various stages of karate training a child will face many types of situations and through these situations a child learns so much about themselves and others. They learn what motivates them, what inspires them and what their strength and weaknesses are and how to deal with different situation and challenges.

The key benefits to training in Karate are:

Confidence
Learns how to build Relationship
Balance – physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and social
Right Attitude
Enthusiasm
Values
Gratitude
FUN

This is why I believe karate is more than kicking and punching, it inspires you to live your life with certain morals and ethics that are inherent in karate philosophy. This is why so many student of karate believe Karate is a Way of Life, it is a life journey!
